Advancing Transparency in In-App Audio Advertising

Recently, Audiomob worked with the Digital Advertising Accountability Program (DAAP) at BBB National Programs as part of its routine monitoring of digital advertising platforms. DAAP works with companies across the advertising industry to help ensure compliance with the Digital Advertising Alliance’s (DAA) Self-Regulatory Principles, which promote transparency and consumer control around interest-based advertising.
During this review, we worked closely with the DAAP team to further strengthen how we provide notice and choice for users interacting with our ads.
Improving Transparency and User Choice
Following the review, Audiomob implemented several updates designed to make information about interest-based advertising clearer and easier for users to access.
These improvements include:
AdChoices integration within audio ads. Our SDK now displays AdChoices text alongside audio ads. This gives users a simple way to learn more about how advertising preferences work.
Improved opt-out and consent management access. Users can directly navigate to the Interest-Based Advertising Opt-Out and Consent Management section of our privacy policy.
Updated privacy disclosures. Our privacy policy now includes clearer explanations of interest-based advertising, how users can manage their preferences, and how device-level advertising controls work on iOS and Android.
These updates help ensure that users interacting with in-app audio ads have greater visibility into how advertising preferences work and how they can manage them.
