After several successful ad campaigns using AudioMob, and a bounty of feedback from our wonderful developer community, we are hugely excited to release the 4.0 version of our Unity plugin.

The newly refined plugin comes alongside a wealth of other changes to our developer ecosystem - including the dash and our documentation.

Across the plugin, the dash and the documentation, developers will find things to be clearer, more efficient, and more precisely geared to their needs. If you loved AudioMob but longed for more elegant, intuitive workflows and an extra degree of control, you are in for a treat.

Our previous plugin was already delivering developers powerful results. It let studios do amazing, creative things with audio ads, helping the effort with monetisation and even retention. But now you’ll find a more orderly hierarchy, a simplified arrangement of settings, and better integrations across the board.

Small changes - big difference
We’ve largely focused on small changes that make a big difference, in an attempt to minimise the impact on your workflow and pipelines.. Log in, and you’ll see a familiar working environment rich with refinements.

We listen to developer feedback too. Afterall, our plugin, dash and documentation are designed for developers specifically (and built by a team with game development experience). Some of you asked for a visual countdown timer that could be displayed with ads. Now that’s implemented. And, as requested, a UI notice appears on audio-only ads which contains a countdown, as well as skip button for skippable ads

Perhaps most significantly, ad performance has been greatly improved, Ad manifest serialising is now threaded to stop stalling the main thread on ad requests, and you can now change the ad format at runtime. And that’s just the start of the upgrades.

Updated documentation and dash
Over in the documentation, you’ll find things are much easier to browse and digest, meaning you’ll have to spend less time searching for the information you need. That’s primarily thanks to a new ordering and division of information.

The dash, meanwhile, empowers developers with much clearer, smarter and flexible ways to view and understand information about campaigns and integrations. Whether you want to dig into CPM averages or better understand the ratio of played ads against ad requests, we have you covered with a range of visualisation options. You can also export reports to other popular tools, and track auctions precisely. All of that means spending less time in the dash, and more time making games that thrive - backed up by relevant, insightful and easily understood information.

We’re sincerely excited to share this with our game developer community, and we can’t thank you enough for all the insight and feedback. We know that to build the best tools for game developers, we need to listen to game developers. And we’ll keep doing so, so don’t be afraid to get in touch. If you haven’t done so yet, you can sign-up as an interested developer via our waitlist.

And if you want detailed information on the changes to the plugin, dashboard and documentation, signed-up developers can head straight to the dashboard for a full overview. Finally, if you’re looking for a guide to upgrading to 4.0, this document should have all the detail you need.
